The main job of a peer leader is to facilitate New Student Orientation, but they also serve as campus representatives and can have several exclusive opportunities at TCC. Peer Leaders are sources of support and information for first-time-in-college students. They share accurate information about academic, personal, and social resources, and they work collaboratively with faculty, professional staff and student staff from other areas on campus. 

Peer Leaders must:

  • Have a 2.0 grade point average at the time of application
  • Enroll in at least 6 credit hours at TCC for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025
  • Attend mandatory training over the summer
  • Have completed 12 semester hours at TCCD by May 2024

Peer Leaders will receive a scholarship each semester after requirements have been met. There is no cost to apply to this position. Peer leaders can work other jobs on campus during the semester, including Supplemental Instruction or student employee.
