Day of the Dead – Altar: Homenaje a Frida Kahlo (Tribute to Frida Kahlo)

An “Altar” is a traditional Hispanic pictorial that is used to give tribute to a loved one who has passed. The purpose of the altar is to show respect and remembering that person(s) by placing their favorite drink, food, and personal objects. It is known that by placing these objects the soul of the deceased will find their way back home. Our “Altar” will pay tribute to our amazing Frida Kahlo and her contributions to art and women empowerment.

Sponsored by Student Activities, E.L.L.A.S (Encouraging Latinas to Lead, Achieve and Succeed), Academic Affairs, and O.L.A. (Organization of Latin Americans).
