An Art exhibition Curated by Veronika Nikiforova. The TCC South Campus Fine Arts Department will host a gallery exhibit. The exhibit is titled Ar(t)cheology’: Excavations of new figurativeness.  Join us for the opening on March 8 from 6 - 8pm.

“Ar(t)cheology: Excavations of new figurativeness” investigates themes and imagery from Classical art in contemporary context. The exhibition brings together the work of 3 contemporary artists: Bill Komodore, Rachel Livedalen, Audrey Travis, who have addressed issues pertinent to today’s socio-cultural discussions through elaboration of the varied references to classical figurativeness. The exhibition provides a critical framework for designation of contemporary art foundations and its constituent components, connecting rethinking of classical tradition with social values and contemporary reality, challenging traditional notions of myth and symbol.
