Les D. Riding-In, Ph.D. will be speaking on the history of the Pawnee Nation College. The college is in a historic district that was home to the Pawnee Indian Boarding School from 1878 to 1958. The sandstone buildings on the Pawnee Reserve have a rich history, and it's fascinating that they were used to provide elementary and middle school education to Indigenous students from all over the region. It's interesting to learn that students who attended the school nicknamed it "Gravy U."
