SE Spanish Club Speaker Series: An Overview of U.S.—Latin America Relations

This presentation is a historical overview of political relations between the United States and Latin American countries, with an emphasis on:

  • U.S. proclamations
  • Territorial expansion
  • Military interventions
  • Covert/overt political operations in the region
  • Cold War politics
  • Trade issues
  • The rise of Leftist presidents in Latin America
  • The effects of Latin American immigration on U.S. demographics

The presentation will be rounded out with a Q&A session.
