#JuneteenthWe are offering a scholarship contest to TCC Connect students who would like to participate in honor of Juneteenth this year. The top three winners will win one of three scholarships. This contest is open to any student enrolled in at least one TCC Connect Campus class for Fall 2023. Please see the details below.
- 1st place: $200
- 2nd place: $175
- 3rd place: $125
The scholarship fund is sponsored by the Office of the President, Carlos R. Morales, Ph.D., President, TCC Connect Campus.
Criteria: Submit a project that illustrates your understanding of Juneteenth. What does this federal holiday mean to you and the people around you?
Your submission can be:
- an original narrative, first person, nonfiction essay (maximum 500 words)
- an original video (maximum 8 minutes)
- an original audio file (maximum 8 minutes)
- an original piece of visual art (painting, photograph, drawing, collage, sculpture, dance, vocal, etc.)
For your entry to be considered, you must include your name, Colleague ID number, and my.tccd.edu email address, and submit your entry on time.
Submissions will be judged on creativity and response to the theme.
Dealine to submit is noon on June 30, 2023.
Winners will be announced on July 20, 2023, at SummerFest.
